Stone & Wood from Byron Bay have burst onto the craft beer scene with some fantastic hand crafted beers including this Pacific Ale which is jam packed full of fresh tropical fruit aromas and flavours. The quintesential summer sessional beer, it has crowd pleaser written all over it. The thing that knocks you over is the aroma. It's full-on fresh, fruity, tropical. A real summer beer; indeed, a real I'm-not-in-the-mood-for-Euro-beer beer. I'm drinking this on a drastically wintry day, but it's best suited for breezy summer outdoor drinking. Wheaty, resiny, fruity as all hell. Not a whole lot of body, but massive 'sessionability'. Cloudy in appearance but it taste immaculately clean and fresh. Super dry, wheaty finish. It will be too light in flavour for some but I reckon this is a beer of both massive appeal and flavour integrity. I want some more. - Campbell Mattinson
